Thoughts from Jill, a gifted guest and new friend to Piney Hill

Nestled amid a rolling valley     near the modest town of Luray You'll find a peaceful charming place     to rest and get away! Where mountains adorn horizons     and life is rural still The hospitality is remarkable,     the haven is "PINEY HILL" I wonder how many old souls,     farmers of the land Looked upon these mountainous visions,     standing where I stand.

We appreciate all the guests we have had who are now wonderful new friends we have made!

"My partner and I traveled to Luray to get married and spend a few romantic nights at Piney Hill. I am not a B&B expert, but I can't imagine having a more beautiful setting, hospitable innkeepers, or tastier breakfast at another. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful night away with fantastic views and easy access (close driving distance) to the mountains, I would recommend it with many stars. (If you have pet allergies, don't worry about the place because no pets are allowed--I have a serious cat allergy and I had no issues.)

Hank and Wiley's hospitality comes naturally. We stayed in their Rosebud Cottage. The cottage has all you need and you still have access to both the hot tub (right outside: between the house and cottage) and inside the house (so you can check out their great dvd selection). For breakfast, they bring you a nice picnic basket with your hot breakfast (including coffee and juice). The cottage has great backside views of the mountains, and a nice screened in front porch. The bed is comfortable, the fireplace adds a nice touch, and the decor of the place is cheerful. You feel special being there.

I'm sure the rest of the place is just as nice as the cottage because the cottage, the common areas in the house, and the land is so well taken care of. As well, checking out nearby scenes is easy because the hosts will help you figure out an adventure that fits you. They gave us a wonderful trail map (Old Rag Mt.) and a great idea for dinner (Artisan's Grill) in Luray. We will most definitely be returning to Piney Hill! I can't say enough about how great this place and its' hosts are. I loved Piney Hill and you will, too."

"My husband and I have been visiting Piney Hill twice a year since 2001. We enjoy visiting in the
spring and for our anniversary in the Fall. On our first visit to this charming country bed and breakfast

we were immediately impressed by the warm and homey feel from the moment we walked through

the front door. This was topped off by the graciousness of the hosts and our friends; Hank & Wiley.

That feeling has never changed, it’s like coming home.

When lounging around the grounds we enjoy gazing at the mountain views from the rockers on
the front porch, under the willow tree in the back garden area or from the outdoor Jacuzzi. They also have an extensive video collection which we take advantage of to wind down with in the late evening. There is so much to do and see in and around the Luray area. We like to just jump in the car and see where the wind blows us. Since we’ve been coming out for the past 6 years; besides doing all of the local attractions and area wineries, we have also ventured out to Monticello, Natural Bridge and the Charlestown horse races and slots as the B & B is centrally located. We also enjoy antique shopping in the area. Don’t forget to check out Hank & Wiley’s gift shop that they opened last year. I’ve found a treasure or two.

I definitely have to say that when they advertise as an relaxing, adventure or romantic get-away that hit the nail on the head. They allow you to do as much or as little as you want to do and are
always happy to offer advice. I’m impressed with the way they know when you want something or when you need some alone time. We will continue to visit Piney Hill, our old friends and the Luray area. It is truly our home away from home. Did I mention we’ve stayed in every room!"

"We visited Piney Hill for my girlfriends birthday. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! Both Hank and Wiley were so inviting. I had wanted to do something very special for my girlfriend and Piney Hill helped make that happen! "I just came back from another relaxing weekend at the Piney Hill B&B. It is truly one of the most relaxing places on Earth. I am the Membership Director and meeting planner for a non-profit in Washington, DC. I spend much of my time traveling to meetings and conferences across the country. This is the place where I go to unwind, relax, engage in great conversation and enjoy some of the best breakfasts prepared by the inn keepers, Hank and Wiley.

"These guys truly made me feel like I was at home. The inn provides great country charm and incredible views of the Shenandoah Valley. The room I and a friend stayed in was spacious and extremely comfortable. They give great directions and recommendations to different restaurants and wineries.
