Busy week here at Piney Hill decking the halls for the holidays.  We first decorated the Country Gift Barn for “Shop Local Saturday” and had a great turnout of local shoppers as well as our Guests.  We then began decorating the Inn for the holidays with fresh greens and many lights on the front porch and candles in every window.

The beautiful weather we have had made decorating outside quite pleasant, ” would have liked to have been out hiking”  LOL.  The inside decorating followed with several trees, the snowman tree being my favorite, the mantles, the dining room table and pretty much everything throughout the house.  I probably failed to mention I used to manage Christmas stores and was a decorator for several years so I tend to go overboard with Christmas!  Now to get to the baking… time for some yummy treats for the guest!

This coming weekend  Dec. 9th is the annual Luray Christmas Parade through downtown along main street.  If you are in need of some “Holiday Cheer” nothing like a small town parade to put you in the spirit.  The Performing Arts Center is also hosting an after parade party with a visit from Santa and some live holiday music.  The Parade is always a fun kickoff to the holidays with bands, and floats, animals and all kinds of fun stuff.  Dinner at Gathering Grounds or Moonshadows is always a nice follow up to the parade.   On Friday, December  15 there is a local Community Choir also at PAL (Performing Arts of Luray) for details visit their website at: www.performingartsluray.org

Our little town is fun all year round with lots of fun things to do during the winter season!  Be sure to check out and take advantage of our Winter Special

We’d hope to see you during this brisk and beautiful time of year!
